Grass Hay

Right now we are selling 2nd cutting (the best cutting) Timothy/Orchard/Brome grass hay from Cortez Colorado.  More people have been making the switch from alfalfa to grass but not many know there is a huge difference in the type of grass you feed your horses.  Not all grass is created equal.   Many of the grass hays I have found marketed as horse hay  are a mix of Clover, Fescue, Rye etc.  These types of grasses are actually toxic or can become toxic to horses over time.  Clover takes over pastures when there is not enough nitrogen and can cause photo-sensitivity in horses.  Fescue can cause abortions in pregnant mares.  Orchard and Timothy are the top of the line grasses for horses, sheep, goats, lamas, and cattle.  Please e-mail or call us at 928-691-0041for price.
